On this first day of summer Toronto remains under an extreme heat alert with record breaking temperatures.
The city of Toronto’s medical officer of health ungraded the city’s heat alert to extreme heat alert as the city smashed a 24-year old temperature record Wednesday.
The temperature at Pearson International Airport hit 34.6, which broke the previous high of 34.4, set in 1949 and 1988.
Several schools in Toronto did not have air conditioning in addition to many of the older schools in the Jane corridor between Finch and Eglington.
Air conditioners are sold out in places but JCJ Mechanical has a big inventory of window air conditioners and central air conditioning units at discounted prices.
